Personal Highlights

Personal Achievements

A record of physical and professional milestones — the challenges I've taken on outside of the classroom and the office, and what they've taught me.

These achievements sit alongside my academic and technical work. They reflect the same qualities I bring to every project: consistency under pressure, the ability to push through when things get hard, and a habit of setting ambitious targets and following through.

Manchester Marathon — Stanley Southwick crossing the finish line

2× Manchester Marathon — Best Time: 03:41:30

Completed the Manchester Marathon twice — 26.2 miles each time through the streets of the city. Running a full marathon once proves you can do it; running it again proves it wasn't a fluke. Both finishes were the result of months of structured training alongside a demanding workload, and each race reinforced that endurance is as much a mental discipline as a physical one.

UK National Three Peaks Challenge — summit view

UK National 3 Peaks — Under 24 Hours

Summited Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England), and Snowdon (Wales) — the three highest peaks in the UK — within a single 24-hour window. The challenge demands precise time management, rapid transitions between driving and climbing, and the ability to keep moving when fatigue sets in. Completing it sub-24 hours leaves no margin for error.

Kilimanjaro summit — Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m

Kilimanjaro — Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)

Reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro — Africa's highest mountain and the world's tallest free-standing peak — at 5,895 metres above sea level. The multi-day ascent required careful acclimatisation, pacing, and the mental resolve to keep going through altitude sickness, extreme cold, and sleep deprivation in the final push to Uhuru Peak.

Commendation Award for Overseas Deployments

Commendation Award — Overseas Deployments

Formally recognised by the British Armed Forces for outstanding performance during overseas deployments. The commendation was awarded for sustained professionalism, technical contribution, and going consistently beyond the expected standard in demanding operational environments. It reflects the same commitment I carry into every role I take on.
